Green Electrodes Consortium and E-Watts partner to localize water technology in Saudi Arabia
Green Electrodes Consortium for Industry Ltd. has signed a partnership agreement with the Spanish company E-Watts to localize advanced water treatment technologies in Saudi Arabia. The collaboration aims to transfer technical knowledge and enhance local content by developing industrial applications within the Kingdom.
During the WPC Energy conference in Riyadh, E-Watts Chairman Miguel Blasi Roma announced that Saudi Arabia will host the company’s regional headquarters for its operations in the Gulf and Middle East. He also presented results from EDP technology tests conducted in July 2026 at the WTIIRA institute in Jubail. These tests demonstrated the technology's effectiveness in treating Arabian Gulf water, potentially reducing capital expenditures by up to 45% while supporting environmental sustainability.
Leadership from the Green Electrodes Consortium noted that Saudi Vision 2030 and government incentives have been instrumental in attracting global technological partners. The consortium plans to establish facilities in the Eastern Province to support localization, provide skilled jobs for Saudi nationals, and create an industrial base capable of serving the broader Middle East market.
