Green Montenegro International Film Fest highlights competition and sustainability efforts
The Green Montenegro International Film Fest in Herceg Novi runs through 28 August, featuring a competitive program for the "Zlatna mimoza" award with ten regional films. Non‑competitive screenings include the Danish film *Dom* by director‑actor Marijana Janković and the closing film *Planina* by Biljana Tutorov and Petra Glomazić. Over 80 works are shown across five venues, and the festival received FIAPF accreditation for the first time, a milestone noted by festival council president Aleksandra Božović.
In a panel on Chapter 27 of the EU Green Deal, Coca‑Cola HBC Montenegro outlined its role in strengthening community resilience. The company supports the establishment of a national waste‑management operator, Recomont, and promotes recycling through the "Uhvati čist talas" campaign, which places recycling stations in public spaces, including a new machine in Podgorica in partnership with VOLI and Deponija. These initiatives aim to reduce plastic use and foster lasting ecological habits.
Selectors Vuk Perović and Vladimir Perović emphasized the strong competition and the importance of ethical and aesthetic criteria in film selection, highlighting the presence of both emerging and established regional creators.
