Surrey-Fleetwood Green Party candidate reports fake campaign signs

Tim Binnema, the Green Party candidate for the Surrey-Fleetwood riding in British Columbia, reported that between 100 and 200 unauthorized campaign signs appeared in the area on October 23, 2026. The fraudulent signs featured Binnema’s photo and falsely claimed authorization from his financial agent.

Binnema noted discrepancies in the signs, including an incorrect shade of green and a photo allegedly taken from his website. He observed that the fake signs were placed near other unauthorized political signage, including messages such as ‘Why a snap election?’ and ‘Vote NDP out.’

Binnema has notified Elections BC regarding the incident. The unauthorized signage appeared just one day before final voting in the B.C. election.
