Green Party MP Timon Dzienus defends remarks against AfD
Green Party MP Timon Dzienus has maintained his stance following an official reprimand in the Bundestag regarding his recent remarks about the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party.
During a plenary debate on the costs and benefits of immigration, Dzienus accused the AfD of harboring ‘deportation fantasies’ and suggested the party aims to categorize people as ‘useful or useless’ through plans for mass deportations. While Bundestag President Julia Klöckner issued a formal reprimand to Dzienus, urging linguistic moderation, the MP refused to retract his statements.
Dzienus argued that the AfD uses the term ‘remigration’ to mask unconstitutional and inhumane plans to forcibly expel millions of people from Germany. He noted that these concerns align with previous controversial statements made by party members regarding the use of force and equipment against citizens.
