Green Plains Reports Q2 Earnings Boost from Carbon Platform

Green Plains Inc. posted second‑quarter adjusted EBITDA of $93.3 million, up from $71.5 million in the first quarter and $16.4 million a year earlier. Net income rose to $67.1 million, or $0.83 per diluted share, compared with $0.42 per share in Q1. Gross margin reached $113 million versus $41.6 million in the same quarter of 2025.

The company produced nearly 161 million gallons of ethanol and processed more than 54 million bushels of corn, operating at about 90 % capacity despite scheduled maintenance and a molecular‑sieve bed replacement at its Madison, Illinois plant. The carbon platform contributed roughly $59 million of EBITDA in the quarter, and Green Plains received a final $41 million cash payment related to its 2025 45Z low‑carbon ethanol tax credits. CFO Ann Reis said the firm is pursuing a credit‑monetization arrangement, while CEO Chris Osowski highlighted the strong execution and the target of roughly 95 % capacity utilization for the full year.
