Green River College appoints first student to Board of Trustees

Governor Bob Ferguson has appointed Nuzhat Hayat Khan as the first student to serve on the Green River College Board of Trustees. Khan, a second-year physics student, will join five other board members.

The appointment follows a year-long collaboration between the Governor and the Associated Students of Green River College (ASGRC) to establish student representation on the board. Khan currently serves as the advocacy coordinator for the ASGRC.

Originally from Dhaka, Bangladesh, Khan aims to use her position to connect student experiences with institutional policy and ensure student voices are heard in decision-making processes. She is also involved in a startup focused on providing STEM educational opportunities for women in South Asian communities.
