Green Tide Logistics launches new North American maritime route

Green Tide Logistics, a subsidiary of Mota-Engil Mexico and part of Grupo PRODI, has launched a new maritime route connecting Tuxpan, Mexico, with Port Canaveral and Philadelphia in the United States. The service, which operates on a biweekly basis, aims to provide an alternative to road freight for transporting electronics, fresh food, and refrigerated cargo between Mexico and the U.S.

The new route utilizes intermodal connectivity, allowing cargo from Philadelphia and Port Canaveral to access rail and road networks for further distribution into strategic Canadian markets. By shifting trade flows from land to sea, the company intends to reduce transit times, optimize cost structures, and alleviate congestion at Mexico-U.S. border crossings.

The commencement of the service was marked by the arrival of the M/V Whale Orca at Port Canaveral, which successfully completed its first unloading of consumer goods. This expansion follows one year of operations connecting the Gulf of Mexico to the North American East Coast.
