Greenboard secures $15.5M to boost AI-driven financial compliance

Greenboard, a fintech startup that uses artificial intelligence to automate financial compliance, closed a $15.5 million Series A round. The financing was led by Base10 Partners and included Y Combinator, General Catalyst (via Wayfinder), Commerce Ventures, Transpose Platform and Liquid2 Ventures. The company, founded by Dave Feldman and Ed Schembor, now serves more than 500 financial institutions and has added a conversational compliance tool called Greenboard Go.

Feldman, a former senior project manager at Guideline, says the platform is designed with an “expert‑in‑the‑loop” approach, where AI handles routine tasks while human specialists review outputs, aiming to reduce reliance on legacy compliance solutions—88 % of customers reportedly eliminated multiple older tools after switching. In a broader context, a recent Swiss Startup Association webinar highlighted how compliance is increasingly a growth driver for startups, emphasizing the need for audit‑ready frameworks such as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and emerging AI‑related regulations. Startups that can prove security and governance are better positioned to win enterprise contracts and avoid deal‑blocking hurdles.
