Greencore recalls pasta salads at Asda and Morrisons over listeria concerns

Manufacturer Greencore has issued a recall for three pasta salad products sold at Asda and Morrisons due to potential Listeria monocytogenes contamination.

The affected products include: - Asda Nacho Cheese Pasta Salad (500g, use by 9 August) - Asda Cheese & Tomato Pasta Salad (300g, use by 10 August) - Morrisons Chicken and Bacon Pasta (300g, use by 7 August)

The Food Standards Agency stated the recall is a precaution. Morrisons noted that listeria was identified in the ingredients used for its chicken and bacon pasta.

Consumers are advised not to consume the products and can return them to their nearest store for a full refund without a receipt. Listeria infection symptoms can resemble the flu, including fever, muscle aches, chills, and diarrhea, though it can lead to serious complications like meningitis in vulnerable groups such as the elderly, pregnant women, and those with weakened immune systems.
