Greene County hires manager for Waynesburg business incubator

The Greene County Board of Commissioners has unanimously approved the hiring of Dr. Kerissa Kuis to manage a new business incubator in downtown Waynesburg. Dr. Kuis is a behavioral leadership scientist with experience as a business development consultant for Waynesburg University and an adjunct professor at West Virginia University.

The incubator will be housed in the Silveus Building on High Street and is expected to open in mid-November. The facility will offer approximately 22 office spaces across three floors, with the potential for a maker space in the basement. The project is supported by a $160,000 two-year grant from the Benedum Foundation, which will fund the manager's position, programming, and equipment.

Jared Edgreen, chairman of the commissioners, stated the incubator is intended to support both new startups and established business owners looking to expand their operations.
