Greene County, NY Child Dies in UTV Rollover Accident
A 12-year-old child died and a 10-year-old remains in critical condition after a utility‑terrain vehicle (UTV) rolled over on a private gravel driveway near 84 County Route 56 in Maplecrest, Greene County, New York. The vehicle, driven by a 14‑year‑old, struck a boulder and tipped onto its passenger side, trapping the two younger passengers beneath it. A neighbor used a truck to lift the UTV before first responders arrived.
All four children – ages 10 to 14 – were taken to Albany Medical Center; the 12‑year‑old was later pronounced dead, the 10‑year‑old is in critical condition, and the driver and an 11‑year‑old passenger sustained minor injuries.
