GREEN×EXPO 2027 preparations expand with JAL partnership and retail stores

Preparations for the GREEN×EXPO 2027, an international horticultural exposition to be held in Yokohama, Japan, are expanding through new corporate partnerships and retail initiatives.

Japan Airlines (JAL) has announced its role as a Gold Partner for the event. Starting in November 2026, JAL will operate special livery aircraft featuring designs inspired by nature and the Earth. The airline will also promote the expo through its in-flight magazine and monitors, and will allow passengers to exchange miles for event tickets. Additionally, JAL will provide hospitality and accessibility training to event staff and participate in sustainability efforts, such as converting waste cooking oil into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).

To increase public engagement, the GREEN×EXPO Association and the Master License Office will launch official pop-up stores starting in September 2026. These retail locations will be situated in Yokohama at Yamashita Park, as well as in Wakayama and Yokkaichi via Kintetsu Department Stores. These stores will sell official licensed merchandise to build brand awareness ahead of the 2027 opening.
