Greenfreight sells majority of highway logistics business

Greenfreight, a Wodonga-based family transport and logistics operator, has sold the majority of its highway business to an undisclosed large national transport and logistics company.

The decision follows months of planning driven by rising fuel costs, the impact of devastating fires in January, freight rate pressures, and softer economic demand. The second-generation Green family stated that the sale allows the company to refocus on its specialist transport services.

Founded in the late 1960s, Greenfreight employs over 220 professionals and operates a significant fleet of prime movers and trailers. The company maintains depots in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and several regional locations, including Myrtleford and Albury.
