Greenheart Exchange seeks host families in Whidbey area

Greenheart Exchange is urgently seeking host families in the Whidbey Island area to accommodate international students before the upcoming school year begins. Local coordinator Madison Hernandez-Bonilla noted that the participating students, typically aged 15 to 18, arrive from countries such as France, Italy, Spain, Bolivia, and Germany.

Families can volunteer to host students for either a single semester or a full 10-month academic year. While the program is volunteer-based and does not provide payment, hosts are responsible for providing meals, lodging, and transportation to school and local activities. Hernandez-Bonilla warned that students who are not matched with families in time may lose their opportunity to participate this year, which is particularly impactful for high school seniors.
