Greenock flat wasp infestation forces tenant to flee

Craig McDonald, a 38‑year‑old tenant in a top‑floor flat in Greenock, Scotland, says his bedroom has been overrun by thousands of wasps. The insects have repeatedly stung him, his two dogs and his cat, leaving him unable to sleep for ten days. McDonald blames Oak Tree Housing Association, his landlord, for failing to address a nest in the roof space. The association initially denied the presence of a wasp nest, then sent pest‑control crews whose treatment proved ineffective. Environmental health officials told McDonald to contact the landlord, not to intervene directly.
