Greenock Morton FC addresses financial and fixture concerns

Greenock Morton Football Club has issued a statement addressing financial challenges and sponsorship issues. The club emphasized that it has “no intention of forfeiting any scheduled fixture” and remains committed to its obligations to the SPFL, opponents, players, and supporters.

The club is currently managing a difficult injury situation alongside financial pressures. Regarding its partnership with tech firm Dalrada, the club clarified that while a £540,000 agreement was paid in full, a subsequent £240,000 commitment has seen only £109,000 received to date. Dalrada previously indicated its partnership would end, though it committed to honoring second-year player recruitment options. However, monthly payments from Dalrada have declined significantly, dropping from £45,000 in May 2026 to £7,000 in July, with no payments received in August due to business pressures on the sponsor.
