Greenock Morton FC seeks to replace £335,000 owed by Dalrada

Greenock Morton FC is facing a significant financial challenge as it seeks to replace £335,000 owed by Dalrada. The club reported that no payments were made by the sponsor during August.

In response to the situation, the Morton Fighting Fund and supporter contributions have raised nearly £50,000 in recent weeks. Additionally, the Morton Club Together has seen an increase in membership, generating approximately £1,400 in recurring monthly income. The club has placed the Fighting Fund money into a separate account to ensure it remains protected for future needs.

Despite the successful fundraising, the board emphasized the scale of the challenge and noted that the club requires external investment for long-term stability. Current projections suggest the club has sufficient liquidity and no debt through the new year, provided circumstances do not change significantly. The club is also focusing on cost reduction and generating additional income.
