Greenvolt to sell battery storage projects in Poland

Greenvolt Group, via its subsidiary Greenvolt Power, has reached an agreement to sell two battery energy storage systems (BESS) in Poland to Malta-based A&R Investments. The projects are located in Ełk and Turośń Kościelna in north-eastern Poland.

Each project features a power capacity of 200 MW and an energy storage capacity of 800 MWh, allowing for approximately four hours of discharge at full power. Both facilities were completed in the third quarter of 2026 and have secured the necessary permits to support the integration of renewable energy into the Polish electricity grid.

The assets have secured 17-year capacity market contracts in Poland starting in 2028, which provide fixed payments for making 85% of their rated capacity available to the system. Additionally, a 10-year tolling agreement will be in place to optimize battery operations and market flexibility. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to customary approvals.
