Gregor Hudohmet faces bribery investigation in Romania
Gregor Hudohmet, the former director of GEN-I Sonce, is under investigation in Romania for alleged bribery. Romanian authorities are examining evidence suggesting Hudohmet demanded a €450,000 success fee, plus VAT, to be paid through a third-party company.
Investigators reportedly obtained evidence via secret recordings of meetings conducted by the head of a Romanian contracting company, which Hudohmet was unaware of. The case is linked to a large-scale energy storage battery project valued at over €22 million.
In response, the management of GEN-I has ordered an audit of the business dealings and appointed Juret Soklič and Sandi Kavalič as interim directors of GEN-I Sonce. The company stated it has zero tolerance for corruption and is considering freezing the project until the circumstances are clarified.
