Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel has been nominated for the Yashin Trophy, an award presented during the Ballon d’Or ceremony for the best goalkeeper of the year. Kobel is one of ten candidates selected for the honor.

During the previous season, the 28-year-old appeared in 61 matches and recorded 24 clean sheets. In the Bundesliga specifically, he set a club record with 15 matches without conceding a goal. While he did not secure a title with either Borussia Dortmund or the Swiss national team this past season, the nomination serves as recognition for his consistency and performance.

The Ballon d’Or awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 26 in London.
