Rodrigues and Hernandez receive six-month suspensions after UFC Sacramento
Following the UFC Fight Night event in Sacramento, the California State Athletic Commission issued six-month medical suspensions to Gregory Rodrigues and Anthony Hernandez. Rodrigues won the main event via unanimous decision, but both fighters face potential long-term absences due to injuries, including a possible right leg fracture for Rodrigues and a possible left knee fracture for Hernandez.
Other fighters also received medical attention; Lerryan Douglas was issued a 180-day suspension following a TKO loss due to a possible right orbital fracture.
Post-fight controversy emerged as Hernandez accused Rodrigues of cheating by repeatedly grabbing the inside of his gloves during grappling exchanges. Rodrigues denied any intentional wrongdoing, stating that any contact was involuntary and that referee Herb Dean would have intervened if clear fouls had occurred. Rodrigues also revealed he competed while dealing with a dislocated toe, back issues, and infections during his training camp.
