Gremlins third film release delayed to October 2028
The release of the third installment in the Gremlins film franchise has been delayed. Originally intended for a November 2027 debut, the film is now scheduled to arrive in theaters in late 2028.
In Germany, the movie is slated for release on October 5, 2028, followed by a release in the United States on October 6, 2028. This marks a significant wait for fans, as the last installment was released in 1990.
Chris Columbus, who directed the original 1984 film, is returning to direct this new chapter. The screenplay was written by Hannah Marks, based on an initial draft by Columbus, Zach Lipovsky, and Adam Stein. Steven Spielberg will also return to the franchise as an executive producer. Warner Bros. Discovery previously announced the project during a 2025 investor conference, though specific plot details and casting remain undisclosed.
