Grenadian driver fined for dangerous driving in St. Vincent

Quormie N. Skeete, a bus driver from Grand Anse, Grenada, has been ordered to pay EC$1,200 or serve three months in prison after pleading guilty to dangerous driving. The incident occurred on the Richmond Hill Public Road in Kingstown.

Following an investigation by the Royal St. Vincent and the Grenadines Police Force (RSVGPF), Skeete appeared before the Mesopotamia Magistrate’s Court. The court mandated an immediate payment of EC$500, with the remaining EC$700 due by October 28. Failure to meet the payment deadline will result in a three-month sentence at His Majesty’s Prison.

The RSVGPF issued this enforcement during the country’s Independence celebrations to emphasize that traffic laws apply to all residents and visitors. The Traffic Department has urged motorists to drive responsibly and exercise patience as traffic volumes increase during the holiday period.
