Grenoble Museum Opens 2,000‑Year Jewish Heritage Exhibition

The Musée dauphinois in Grenoble has opened an exhibition titled “Une histoire juive : 2 000 ans de liens entre le Rhône et les Alpes.” The display traces two millennia of Jewish presence and culture across the Rhône‑Alps region, from early evidence such as a 1st‑century oil lamp discovered near Cavaillon to the community’s development from Valence to Briançon.

The exhibition was created in collaboration with local Jewish families and presents artifacts, stories of suffering and celebration, and the evolving identity of the Jewish population in the Dauphiné. Curator Denis Vinçon highlights the project as part of the museum’s ongoing effort to explore the diverse cultural heritage of the Isère department.
