Grenoble suburb blast destroys two cars, no injuries

An explosive device detonated near Grenoble in the suburb of Saint‑Martin‑le‑Vinoux, Isère, destroying two parked vehicles on the night of Sunday‑Monday. The targeted car was empty, and the blast sent debris more than 30 metres away, igniting the second vehicle and nearby vegetation. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames with a water lance.

Police established a security perimeter while bomb disposal teams examined the wreckage. The Division of Organized Crime and Specialized Investigation (DCOS) is leading the probe, treating the incident as a criminal act. The explosion occurs amid an ongoing territorial conflict between drug traffickers in the Grenoble area, which has claimed ten lives since late 2025.
