Grey DeLisle announces new album ‘Don’t Turn Around’

Singer-songwriter Grey DeLisle has announced her upcoming album, ‘Don’t Turn Around’, scheduled for release on October 23 via Hummin’bird Records. The project features 11 songs drawing from classic country, rockabilly, and California roots music.

The album was produced by the late Andy Paley and completed by collaborator Marvin Etzioni following Paley’s death. The creative partnership between DeLisle and Paley reportedly began on the set of ‘SpongeBob SquarePants’ while DeLisle was voicing characters for the animated series.

DeLisle has released the lead single, ‘The Lights Are Off But Somebody’s Home’, described as a rockabilly-flavored take on the Bakersfield Sound. The album includes a guest appearance by Dave Alvin on the duet ‘You’re Driving Me Away’ and features a cast of musicians including Deke Dickerson, Murry Hammond, and Mickey Raphael.
