Grégory Lorenzi and OGC Nice fail to reach settlement
Conciliation efforts between Olympique de Marseille (OM) sporting director Grégory Lorenzi and OGC Nice have failed to reach an agreement at the labor court (Prud’hommes). The legal dispute stems from a prior commitment Lorenzi made to join OGC Nice following his tenure at Stade Brestois, an agreement he ultimately did not honor when he chose to join Marseille instead.
As no compromise was reached, the case has moved to the “mise en état” phase. This stage requires both parties to prepare their arguments, exchange evidence, and clarify their legal positions before a potential trial. While a settlement remains possible before a final judgment, OGC Nice appears intent on pursuing the legal process to assert its rights.
While a ruling could result in financial penalties for Lorenzi, legal experts suggest the likelihood of him being forced to leave his position at OM is minimal.
