Grigor Dimitrov considers Davis Cup return for Bulgaria against Denmark

Bulgarian tennis player Grigor Dimitrov is considering a return to the national team for the upcoming Davis Cup clash against Denmark, scheduled for September 18 and 19. His participation depends on medical examinations regarding a back injury following his appearance at the US Open.

The match will take place at the Royal Stage in Hillerød, near Copenhagen. The stakes are high for the Bulgarian squad led by captain Valentin Dimov: a victory would guarantee a return to the World Group, while a loss would force the team into a play-off to maintain their position in World Group I for February 2027.

Denmark is expected to field star player Holger Rune, alongside Elmer Møller and August Holmgren. Bulgaria's final roster is expected to include Alexander Donski and Petar Nesterov, with an official announcement from Dimov scheduled for Tuesday.
