Grigoris Bithikotsis musical theater production announced

A new musical theater production titled ‘I am the Sir, Grigoris Bithikotsis’ is set to debut at the Christmas Theater, running from October 17 to November 28, 2026. Directed by Dimitris Malissovas, the show explores the life and artistic journey of the legendary Greek singer.

The narrative follows Bithikotsis from his impoverished childhood in Peristeri and his early work as a plumber through the transformative eras of the Occupation and Makronisos. The production weaves together his personal struggles, successes, and significant musical collaborations with figures such as Mikis Theodorakis and Stavros Xarchakos.

The plot is centered around a modern-day journalist, played by Christos Ferentinos, who investigates the singer's legacy. Throughout the performance, Bithikotsis appears on stage as a silent observer of his own life story. The production features a 25-member cast, including singers Giannis Kotsiras and Babis Stokas, alongside Bithikotsis's son, Grigoris Bithikotsis Jr.
