Grimsby Town defeats York City in five-goal thriller
Grimsby Town secured back-to-back victories in Sky Bet League Two with a 5-2 win over York City at Blundell Park. The match featured a high-scoring first half where teams shared four goals. Andy Cook opened the scoring for the home side, followed by an equalizer from former Town midfielder Alex Hunt. Jack Hunt briefly put the visitors ahead, but Iwan Morgan restored parity for Grimsby.
Cameron McJannet, returning from injury, scored the third goal for Town in the 75th minute. Substitute Josh Andrews added a fourth shortly after, and Geza Turi completed the scoring with a late goal. The victory moves Grimsby Town closer to the fifth position in the league table, while York City, who entered the match in fifth place, failed to secure the draw needed to move into automatic promotion spots.
