Griquas win first Women's Super League 2 title

AVBOB Griquas Women secured their first provincial title by defeating the defending champions, Hollywood Foundation Pumas Women, 31-25 in the Pick n Pay Women's Super League 2 final. The match took place on Friday, 28 August 2026, at Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit.

The Pumas held a 17-14 lead at halftime, but the Griquas delivered a clinical second-half performance bolstered by impactful substitutions. Griquas head coach Claudia Francke attributed the victory to the resilience of her players, noting that the team had been working toward this achievement for three years.

The win marks a historic moment for the Northern Cape side, which the coaching staff believes will positively influence junior rugby structures in their home region.
