Grito dos Excluídos mobilizes social movements across Brazil

The 32nd edition of the Grito dos Excluídos (Cry of the Excluded) is mobilizing social movements, unions, and popular organizations across various Brazilian cities. In Manaus, the event is scheduled for September 6 at the National Institute for Amazon Research (INPA), featuring thematic tents focused on housing, women's rights, the environment, and social struggles. The program includes a popular economy fair and a march toward Bola do Coroado.

In Paraíba, demonstrations are planned for several cities, including Patos, Campina Grande, and João Pessoa. In João Pessoa, the mobilization is set for September 7 at Parque Solon de Lucena, intended to serve as a counterpoint to official Independence Day parades. Organizers emphasize labor rights as a central theme, specifically calling for the end of the 6x1 work schedule to ensure workers have adequate rest.

The national agenda for this year's movement includes demands for agrarian reform, public education, the Unified Health System (SUS), and combatting racism, LGBTphobia, and violence against women.
