Görlitz district reports 411 vacant apprenticeship positions
In the Görlitz district of Germany, the Federal Employment Agency reports that 411 apprenticeship positions remain vacant. The construction sector accounts for 40 of these openings, including five positions in roofing companies.
The IG BAU Ostsachsen union is urging young people without professional qualifications to seek training, noting that even as the new apprenticeship year begins, companies may continue hiring through October. The union emphasizes that completed vocational training leads to more secure and better-paying careers.
Data from the Federal Statistical Office indicates that approximately 78,000 young adults aged 20 to 34 in Saxony lack completed vocational training or an apprenticeship. In the Görlitz district specifically, 76 percent of unemployed individuals under the age of 25 do not hold a professional qualification.
