Projections from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) indicate diverging relegation risks for Rio Grande do Sul clubs Grêmio and Internacional as the 2026 Brasileirão approaches its final stages.

Following recent match results, Grêmio faces an 80.6% probability of relegation, placing them third in risk behind Chapecoense and Remo. In contrast, Internacional's risk has dropped to 32.7% following a 3-0 victory over Botafogo. This win moved Internacional to 16th place with 35 points, while Corinthians remains in the relegation zone with 33 points.

The shift represents a significant change from the previous round, where Internacional's risk was calculated at 57.7%. Grêmio's risk increased slightly from 76.7% despite not yet playing their 32nd-round match.
