Grêmio celebrates 123 years of history and 1983 Intercontinental Cup win

Grêmio Foot-Ball Porto Alegrense celebrates its 123rd anniversary. The club, founded in 1903, is highlighted for its historical achievements, most notably winning the Intercontinental Cup in 1983.

In the 1983 final held at the Tokyo National Stadium in Japan, Grêmio defeated the German side Hamburg 2-1. Renato Gaúcho scored twice during the match, including a decisive goal in extra time, to secure the title after Hamburg had equalized late in the second half.
