Grêmio defender Walter Kannemann faces STJD tribunal

Grêmio defender Walter Kannemann and his club face a hearing at the Superior Court of Sports Justice (STJD) following a match against Cruzeiro. The Argentine player was denounced under article 243-F of the CBJD for an alleged gesture accusing the refereeing crew of theft after receiving a yellow card.

If convicted, Kannemann faces a fine of up to R$ 100,000 and a suspension ranging from four to six matches, as offenses against officials carry a higher minimum penalty. Such a sanction could prevent him from playing until the final round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.

In response to the potential absence of Kannemann, Grêmio defender Wallace is expected to return to the starting lineup for the upcoming match against Coritiba after recovering from nasal surgery.
