Grêmio faces CAS hearing over Camilo transfer dispute
Grêmio is set to attend a hearing at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) this Wednesday regarding a legal dispute over midfielder Camilo. The Russian club Akhmat Grozny is seeking approximately R$ 4 million in transfer fees related to the player's move to Grêmio in early 2025.
Grêmio has previously argued that the signing complied with FIFA regulations, which allow for the suspension of player contracts due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Although FIFA previously ruled in favor of the Brazilian club, the case is now moving to its final instance at CAS. Camilo is currently playing for Chapecoense on loan, while Grêmio continues to cover 50% of his monthly salary.
