Grêmio faces legal dispute with Cruzeiro and renews Vini Ferraz

Cruzeiro has filed a legal action with the National Dispute Resolution Chamber (CNRD) against Grêmio regarding unpaid debts from the acquisition of left-back Marlon. The dispute stems from a failure to adhere to a payment schedule for the player's permanent transfer, which was triggered after Marlon met specific appearance milestones. The total agreed amount was 3.5 million USD, intended to be paid in 10 installments, but Grêmio has reportedly only paid the first installment.

In separate player news, Grêmio has extended the contract of 18-year-old attacker Vini Ferraz until December 2029. The renewal includes a release clause of 40 million euros for international clubs. Ferraz, a standout in the club's youth academy, had previously drawn interest from Cruzeiro before committing to the long-term extension with Grêmio.
