Grêmio loans Leonel Pérez to Racing Club

Grêmio has officially announced the loan of 21-year-old Argentine defensive midfielder Leonel Pérez to Racing Club in Argentina. The one-year loan agreement includes an option for Racing to purchase the player at the end of the term for a fixed fee of $3.5 million (approximately R$ 17.8 million).

Grêmio holds 50% of the player's economic rights. The move is strategically linked to the club's financial obligations, as the potential purchase price matches the amount Grêmio owes Racing regarding the previous acquisition of player Nardoni. This arrangement is intended to provide financial relief for the Brazilian club.

Pérez, who joined Grêmio from Huracán earlier this year, has made 19 appearances for the club. Grêmio's vice-president of football, Rafael Lima, expressed confidence that the move will allow the young midfielder to adapt better to football after his initial challenges in Brazil.
