Grêmio pairs Scolari and Renato Gaúcho to manage crisis

Grêmio has implemented an emergency coaching arrangement involving two of its most successful managers, Luiz Felipe Scolari and Renato Gaúcho, to address a period of crisis. During a delayed Campeonato Brasileiro match against Botafogo, Scolari served as technical coordinator and interim manager, while the newly contracted Renato Gaúcho also occupied the bench.

The move follows the dismissal of Luís Castro as the club faces the threat of relegation. The two coaches, who share a long history and have managed a combined 932 matches for the team, aim to stabilize the locker room. Scolari noted that his role is to support the team through his experience and relationship with the players while Renato takes on the primary coaching responsibilities.
