Grêmio Prudente reaches Copa Paulista semifinals after victory over Linense
Grêmio Prudente secured a spot in the Copa Paulista semifinals after defeating Linense 2-1 at the Gilberto Siqueira Lopes stadium in Lins. Following a 2-2 draw in the first leg, the Presidente Prudente side established a lead in the first half with goals from Deivid Santos at the eight-minute mark and Kaio Cristian at the 36-minute mark.
Linense managed to pull one goal back in the 19th minute of the second half via a free kick from Michael Paulista. Despite playing with an extra man following the expulsion of Grêmio Prudente defender Uberaba, Linense was unable to equalize.
Grêmio Prudente joins Noroeste and São José in the semifinals. The final participant will be determined following the match between Juventus and União São João at the Pacaembu Arena. The tournament winner earns the right to choose between competing in the Brazilian Série D or the Copa do Brasil next year.
