Grêmio ranks second in Brazilian transfer revenue following Gabriel Mec sale

Grêmio has secured the second-highest position in the ranking of Brazilian clubs with the most revenue from player transfers in 2026. Following the sale of Gabriel Mec to FC Porto for a fixed investment of 11 million euros, plus variables, the club has accumulated R$ 260.886 million from eight sales or loans. Only Palmeiras leads the ranking with R$ 386.146 million.

Grêmio's financial standing was bolstered by several significant transactions, including the sale of Alysson to Aston Villa for 10 million euros and Viery to Fiorentina for 15 million euros. In the broader context of the Brazilian Série A, total transfer movement has surpassed R$ 2 billion across 67 disclosed transactions.

In Portugal, FC Porto concluded a measured transfer window, recording a positive balance of approximately 10.25 million euros. The club spent 37.4 million euros on signings, including the 11 million euro acquisition of Gabriel Mec, while generating 47.65 million euros from player departures. This represents one of the club's lowest spending periods since the era of UEFA financial fair-play regulations.
