Grímsnes- og Grafningshreppur is currently undergoing several infrastructure and development projects aimed at improving local services, safety, and facilities.
Key developments include renovations at Kerhólsskóli, where the school playground is being expanded and updated with new equipment. Additionally, the upper floor of the school, previously used for municipal administration, is being repurposed to create new classrooms and educational spaces.
In Borg, construction is underway for a new rescue center to enhance the capabilities of local emergency responders. Work on the building's foundation is progressing, with the structural assembly expected to begin in September.
Further infrastructure work includes the development of new roads and pedestrian/cycling paths. This includes the construction of Skógartún street and new connections to Biskupstungnabraut, alongside the implementation of blue-green stormwater solutions.
