Grândola Logistics Park receives environmental approval

The Grândola Logistics Park Euro-Atlantic (GLPEA) has received a conditional favorable Environmental Impact Declaration (DIA). The project, promoted by Qantara Capital, is expected to begin infrastructure works in 2027 following the acquisition of necessary licenses.

Initial infrastructure investment is estimated at 40 million euros, while the total global investment for the development is budgeted at 468 million euros, a figure that may increase depending on the companies that settle in the park. The project, classified as having Potential National Interest (PIN), aims to diversify the local economy and create qualified employment in the Grândola municipality.

The conditional approval includes specific requirements, such as a prohibition on new water extractions for the park's supply and mandates regarding the discharge of rainwater and wastewater. David Claudino, the general director of the park, noted that these conditions were already integrated into the project's design. The development will consist of seven macro-lots, with the first phase focusing on general infrastructure and the construction of the first two lots.
