Grüne Tage Thüringen agricultural fair concludes in Erfurt

The 13th edition of the ‘Grüne Tage Thüringen’ agricultural trade fair has concluded in Erfurt, Germany. The event drew nearly 20,000 visitors, which represents a decrease of approximately 3,000 compared to the previous biennial fair.

More than 200 exhibitors from six countries showcased developments in agriculture, forestry, and food production. Key themes included animal breeding, modern agricultural technology, and food security. Major manufacturers such as John Deere, Case, New Holland, Fendt, and GEA presented digital solutions for land management. Livestock shows, particularly cattle breed competitions, served as significant attractions for the public.

Thuringia Agriculture Minister Colette Boos-John noted that the industry faces significant challenges, including high costs, extreme weather events, and increasing requirements for animal welfare and environmental protection. Despite the lower attendance, organizers and exhibitors reported a positive outcome, highlighting the fair's role in connecting professionals and hobby farmers.
