Górnik Zabrze defeats Jagiellonia amidst refereeing controversy

Górnik Zabrze secured a 3-1 away victory against Jagiellonia Białystok in an Ekstraklasa match marked by significant officiating controversy. While Górnik managed to take three points, the game was overshadowed by several disputed decisions by referee Wojciech Myć.

One major incident occurred in the 16th minute when Górnik goalkeeper Philipp Schulze caught a deliberate pass from teammate Josema. Although the technical referee initially ruled that opponent pressure excused the action, Myć later admitted to Canal+ Sport that, according to Law 11, it should have been penalized with an indirect free kick.

Additional controversies included the annulment of a goal by Jesus Imaz and a failure to award a penalty to Jagiellonia following a challenge by Rafał Janicki. Despite these errors, Górnik's performance, highlighted by Ondrej Zmrzly's defensive work and offensive contribution, secured the win.
