Górnik Zabrze manages 30 million PLN debt following privatization

Górnik Zabrze is undergoing a financial restructuring following its privatization. Club board member Bartłomiej Gabryś confirmed that the club's debt is approximately 30 million PLN, a figure previously cited by Lukas Podolski.

Under the new ownership model, the club is shifting toward a system where expenditures on players and staff are tied to generated revenue rather than external subsidies from the city. This transition aims to address long-standing issues including negative capital, old liabilities, and liquidity constraints.

A significant milestone in this new era is the record-breaking sale of Lukas Ambros to Anderlecht for 5 million EUR. Gabryś credited the success of this transfer to the combined efforts of the sporting department and the personal involvement of Lukas Podolski.
