Górnik Zabrze Sporting Director discusses coaching changes and player transfers

Łukasz Milik, the sporting director of Górnik Zabrze, has shared insights into recent club decisions, including the difficult choice to dismiss coach Jan Urban in favor of Michal Gasparik. Milik noted that the decision drew significant criticism and online hostility at the time.

Milik also addressed the club's transfer strategy, specifically the sale of Wiktor Nowak to Slavia Prague. The 22-year-old midfielder was sold for approximately 2.4 million euros after the club had acquired him for less than 20,000 euros. Milik described the three-month negotiation process as the most difficult deal of his career, involving complex discussions with multiple agents.

The sporting director emphasized that such transfers are essential for the club's financial stability and growth, noting that revenue from sales, such as Nowak's, allows the club to reinvest in new talent like Kacper Urbański.
