Gránit Bank ownership shifts as BDPST Group sells stake to Fafner Capital
BDPST Group has reached an agreement to sell a portion of its stake in Gránit Bank to Fafner Capital Kft. Following the completion of this transaction and a previously announced deal in September, BDPST Group will no longer hold a majority influence over the bank.
Upon closing, Fafner Capital Kft. will hold a 20.48 percent ownership stake and a 30.22 percent voting share in Gránit Bank. Fafner Capital Kft. is owned by Stark Capital Zrt., an entity held by banker György János Erős. The stated goal of the transaction is to further diversify the bank’s ownership structure and bring in a domestic professional investor with significant banking market experience.
BDPST Group remains a minority shareholder and maintains its commitment to Gránit Bank’s long-term growth strategy. The finalization of the deal is subject to necessary regulatory and supervisory approvals, specifically from the Magyar Nemzeti Bank.
