Grüntenhaus tenants to depart historic Allgäu Alps mountain hotel

Tenants Felicitas Deutschkämer and Thomas Sprinkart have announced they will not renew their lease for the Grüntenhaus, a historic mountain hotel located in the Allgäu Alps near Burgberg.

Having taken over the establishment in 2023, the pair decided to end their tenure after more than three years. In a social media announcement, Sprinkart cited increasing technical and infrastructural challenges that could no longer be reconciled with their business concept.

Built in 1854 by Carl Hirnbein, the Grüntenhaus is considered the oldest mountain hotel in the Allgäu Alps. The tenants, who previously left their regular jobs to run the hotel, are planning a farewell event for their guests.
